Ojārs Bušs 1944–2017

ICOS was very saddened to hear of the death of Ojārs Bušs on 3 January 2017, aged 72. Dr Bušs was a long-standing member and will be remembered fondly. We publish below an obituary written by his close colleague Laimute Balode (Helsinki/Rīga).

Professor W. F. H. Nicolaisen

It was with great sadness that ICOS heard of the death of W. F. H. (Bill) Nicolaisen on 15 February 2016, aged 88. Professor Nicolaisen was an internationally renowned name scholar and a former President of ICOS (1990-1996). The thoughts of ICOS members are with his family.

An interesting obituary by Gordon Casely appeared in The Herald newspaper in Scotland and can be read online here.
