International Training on Toponymy 2023
You are invited to participate in the International Training on Toponymy with a special focus on “Geographical Names as Cultural Heritage”, which will be held on 19 – 23 June 2023, at Padma Resort Legian, Bali Indonesia.
The objectives of the training are to improve awareness, increase knowledge and understanding and strengthen skills in the principles and methodologies of geographical names standardization, geographical names data collection, creation of toponymic databases, geographical names data processing and management, and the creation and management of national names authorities.
The event will be conducted in English, which will include six modules consisting of lectures, discussions, demonstrations and practical exercises, and a one-day field exercise focusing on the collection of geographical names.
